In a heartbreaking turn of events, three people were killed, including two children, following a two-vehicle crash in Largo, Florida, on May 10, 2025. The crash, which occurred at approximately 1:45 p.m. at the intersection of Orangeview Drive and Ridge Road, also left Miami Hurricanes linebacker and Largo High School alum Adarius Hayes with injuries.
The accident involved Hayes, 20, who was driving a Dodge Durango that collided with a Kia Soul. The collision tragically resulted in the deaths of three passengers in the Kia Soul: 10-year-old Jabari Elijah Solomon, 4-year-old Charlie Herbert Solomon Rivera, and 78-year-old Gail Price, who was driving the vehicle. Price succumbed to her critical injuries the following day, May 11.
Another passenger in the Kia, 58-year-old Herbert Rivera, was also hospitalized with serious injuries. Hayes, who was not seriously hurt in the crash, was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A Heartbreaking Loss
The crash marks an incredibly difficult chapter for the families involved, especially the family of Jabari and Charlie, who were taken far too young. Both children were beloved members of their community, and their untimely deaths have left an irreplaceable void. Family members have expressed deep sorrow at their loss and have turned to the community for support in the wake of the tragedy.
Gail Price, the elderly woman who also lost her life in the accident, was remembered fondly by those who knew her. She was described as a kind, loving soul who dedicated much of her life to caring for others. Her death, in particular, has shaken those who were close to her, as she was known to be an incredibly devoted mother and grandmother.
CiCi Solomon, the mother of Jabari and Charlie, has set up a GoFundMe campaign to cover funeral costs and to provide support for her surviving daughter, who also faces an incredibly difficult path ahead. The funds raised will help ease the financial burden on her family as they process this devastating loss.
The tragedy has also spurred an outpouring of support from the local community, as residents and neighbors rally to provide assistance to the Solomon family during their time of mourning.
Investigation into the Crash
According to the Largo Police Department, the preliminary investigation suggests that Hayes’ Dodge Durango was traveling south when it collided with the Kia Soul, which was making a left turn. Investigators are focusing on various factors, including the speed of both vehicles at the time of the crash, to determine the cause of the accident. It is important to note that police have reported there were no signs of impairment with either of the drivers involved.
Ridge Road was temporarily closed between Ulmerton Road and Eighth Avenue Southwest while police and emergency responders worked at the scene. The road was reopened around 9:30 p.m. after authorities completed their investigation.
